On June 25, the OJA Forum took place for the seventh time in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). The event, which is all about analyzing online job advertisements, is becoming increasingly international. With contributions from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA, Lebanon), the International University of Rabat (Morocco) and the Open University of Catalonia (Spain), among others, and participants from Poland, Greece and Vietnam, the OJA Forum offered a good opportunity for international exchange. Scientists working on similar issues were able to discuss challenges together and network with each other.

Topics at the 7th OJA Forum this time included the visualization and use of data using dashboards and the assignment of job titles to online job advertisements using various methodological approaches. In this video blog series, the presentations will be published one after the other. The first presentation is by Jiří Braňka from the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) with the title „From data to knowledge on skills“.
From data to knowledge on skills
Building on over a decade of experience in developing and disseminating skills intelligence, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training explores various ways how to present the online job advertisement data, so it gives detailed and value-added information, while respecting the specifics and biases of the source. With new indicators in development, Cedefop attempts to measure better how skills are important and relevant across job.
